A European crypto mining company appointed ChESS to source specialized IT equipment and graphic cards, and assist them along the logistic and import process. We identified a manufacturer of dedicated mining equipment, structurized the payment flows and pre-shipment inspections, and brought the import and deliveries to a good end.

For a major European automotive OEM, ChESS executed a market research in four Tier 1 cities in China. For each region, a complete mapping of the industrial & (semi-)governmental key players, the available technologies, the degree of implementation of the central authorities’ directives, ongoing and future infrastructure projects,… was made into detail. This knowledge serves as a crucial tool for this customer’s future sales strategy of EV’s in mainland China.
Although only involved in the very last phase of this sourcing project, ChESS accepted the challenge to solve the problems with the timely supply of the right materials (a special alloy which wasn’t easily available on the market), supervised the production process of this tailor-made spiral heat exchanger, arranged the QC inspections and ensured the timely shipment of this equipment.
ChESS provided the necessary seed capital which made it possible for the restaurant JinJiang to successfully launch in Ghent. The chef used to work at the famous Shanghai-based restaurant Jin Jiang before he decided to move to Europe in the eighties. Not even thinking about serving westernized food, he selected nothing but authentic Chinese specialties to put on his menu. We’ve known the chef for years, are fully confident in his cooking and interpersonal skills, and therefore decided to give his restaurant business a boost, both financially and with practical help. In June 2014, the restaurant opened its doors in the very city centre of Ghent, at the Korenlei. We wish him all the luck and we’ll surely count ourselves among his loyal customers.
The architectural lighting company Kreon, headquartered in Belgium, teamed up with ChESS for the setup of its Chinese branch company, which we registered in the Free Trade Zone in Shanghai, officially known as the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free-Trade Zone. Kreon is one of the very first Belgian companies to have successfully completed the registration in this zone, since its inception on 29 September 2013.
Our service to Kreon included not only the setup of the company and the obtention of the necessary license, but we also host Kreon at our office, and assist operationally in strategic planning, recruitment of local staff, sales generation, preparation of and participation at exhibitions etc.
On June 7, ChESS joined a large seminar dedicated to International Trade and Advanced Manufacturing Industry in Suzhou.
More then 200 people for Chinese companies and government organizations joined the event to listen to more than 10 speakers.

ChESS has been appointed as cooperation partner of Antwerp Management School in China. Pre-screening and enrollment formalities for new students of the “three continents” programme shall be done through ChESS. Antwerp Management School is in the Financial Times ranking for the FT Masters (master after master for pre-experience graduates) and for Executive MBA’s.
On September 9th, 2013, an MOU was signed between Mr Xu, director of China International Brand Center, and Mr Dewit, chairman Belgian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC). China International Brand Center is a global import initiative with the support of MOFCOM, offering a sales and import platform to companies worldwide,
and facilitating the promotion and sales of foreign products through one centralized interface. ChESS is one of the very few private-owned companies that has an existing strategic cooperation relationship with China International Brand Center and brought China International Brand Center and BCECC around the table.
For a Belgian SME, ChESS identified the manufacturer of adhesive foam bandages. Both companies jointly developed a custom-made type of foam bandage, and ChESS guided the identification and product development process, and supervised the in-production QC follow-up.
The Belgian company Drylock has entered the Chinese market with its revolutionary ultra-thin and fluffless diapers. The diapers are greatly appreciated because of their environmental-friendliness. ChESS assisted both parties in the matchmaking and contractual negotiations.
On 13 June 2013, on the occasion of the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, ChESS and China Conduct jointly organized the first edition of the Double Dragon festival, in the presence of Mr Xiang Shihai, head of the cultural department at the Chinese embassy in Belgium and Mr Johan De Clerck, director of the Development Agency East Flanders. The “double dragon” event refers to the Chinese dragon boat festival combined with the dragon on the tower of the Ghent belfry, in which the event was organized.
ChESS was in charge of the sourcing, purchase, production follow-up and pre-shipment inspection of counter weights. Direct shipment from China to a project in the Middle East made the quality inspection by our team even more necessary.

On behalf of a North-African refinery, ChESS was in charge of the complete procurement process for petrochemical tubes. After a thorough desk research, 3 suppliers were retained on the shortlist and factory audits were executed.

Appointed by a European waste paper processing company, ChESS guided the company through the Chinese AQSIQ procedure for supplier eligibility, and assisted during the purchase frame contract of 500MT to be monthly shipped to Qingdao.
